How do I book an interpreter or translator?

Booking an interpreter or translator via SWITC is a simple process. All interpreting and translating requests are processed via SWITC’s online booking system, which be accessed at http://bookings.switch.org.au. This system allows your organisation to place new bookings, monitor current bookings and update details about your organisation.

Please read the instructions on how to make a booking before submitting your first request.

If you have any questions about the booking system or if you have an urgent booking request, please call us on (07) 3892 8559 or email switc@deafsq.org.au to discuss.

Interpreters can be difficult to find at short notice, so please make a booking a minimum of one working week in advance to allow enough time for an appropriate interpreter to be arranged. With all translation requests, please allow a minimum of 10–15 working days from date of submission to have your request completed.

Please note, only Non-government organisations funded by the Disability Services portfolio of the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services can access the SWITC program. If your organisation is funded by the Disability Services portfolio you will be issued with a funding ID number. Use this number as your username when making bookings through SWITC. If you are unsure of your login details, please contact us on (07) 3892 8559 or email switc@deafsq.org.au and our customer service operators will assist you.

If your organisation is not funded by the Disability Services portfolio, you will need to contact your funding body to discuss how you can access free interpreting and translation services.
